BACK 2 AFRICA - Tanto Metro, Devonte look to the Motherland

Dancehall duo Tanto Metro and Devonte are seeking to take their music to the next level.

The duo, who recorded the mega hit Everyone Falls in Love in 1999, will be making a debut performance in Africa and hopes that the two shows there will be their best-ever performances.

"Now we are moving on another level, we are taking it worldwide. It's a very large show, the expected crowd is about 30,000 and we know they are expecting a good performance from us," Tanto told The STAR.

He added: "We have done a lot of different shows with international artistes in the past. So it will be a pleasure to know that as artistes, we are given the opportunity to perform in Africa."

The show, which is dubbed as The Biggest Show Ever will take place at the Lugogo Cricket Oval, Uganda, on December 6. The show will also feature international acts Boys ll Men, Joe Thomas and Tanya Stephens.

Dancehall in another direction

The other show will be in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, at the Leaders Grounds, on December 5.

The Give It To Her Hard lyricists say they feel dancehall music is shifting in the right direction.

"Basically, this a prove that dancehall music is growing. We just going to continue to do our thing and build from strength to strength," said Devonte.

Currently, the two are voicing at Dimmie Joe Muzik and have recorded a few singles to date, including Bruk Out and Hit The Gas, on which they collaborated with Florida-based act Sylina Serrano.

The two say things are going well for their careers

and fans should expect more from them in the near future.

"Most of the times when people don't hear from us, we are overseas touring. We just always doing stuff, but our music will never die," Devonte said.
